You know from time to time we can all slip up on spelling or make a typo. Folks who think they are smug because they pick on a mistake get up my nose are they so perfect. As long as I understand what you mean if you have made a mistake bug deal I would never be as rude as to point this out to you.

This sometimes bugs me too. Not for the spelling correction per se, but for the motive behind the correction. Some people will correct a spelling mistake simply to be helpful. But others do it to establish some air of superiority - especially when they want to disagree with the author of the spelling infraction.

The former is no bug deal for me.

I wish the latter people would just bugger off.

I think it comes down to what is important to you. To some people doing something correctly instead of incorrectly matters. Don't you know people who stress about every fashion detail or a sport's nut that actually thinks athletes should play by the rules? Some people really care about spelling and sentence structure, etc.

A typo is acceptable, not caring about the spelling at all is not. It makes it very hard to understand, and lets face, you do have a spell checker right beside where you type.

I think you'll find that 'spelling' isn't a proper noun, so should not be capitalised.

If that's what you meant of course.

Capitalisation is important you know ...

I agree with Sami. What she's saying is what annoys me.
