We the British in general tolerate the French, without liking them. Rather like a close relative,who is a bit odd, you smile, eat their food, but you can never love them. Close neighbours often have feuds and long term quarrels. The France / Britain animosity has lasted for many hundreds of years, and without bias I can say the French are a jealous race. Language, Politics,world influence,WW 1, WW 2,anything which suggests France is not a World player, and Thierry Henry turning into a Londoner!

I think the problem is not with the general English/French it is Parisians and Londoners.



Always rushing about with no time to treat the people they meet with respect. I saw this TV show where a guy was hanging off the side of a bridge in London, so many people just walked on past it sickened me.

Well the French are known to be very rude and obnoxious with the English. I have tried my French whilst on holiday and was asked to leave the resturant?!! I wasn't rude just asked if lobster was priced per kilo....so that kinda put me off trying to speak French again!! Depends on peoples experience - as with any other nationality - so I wouldn't take it personally.

I have no problems with the French. Mind you, I can speak French so I can communicate in their language. I love most of the food in France and the wine is to die for !!!! Yummy!

I know the Brits dont like the french as a nation but I personally dont have a problem with them. I like to think I judge people as individuals

yeah i did until i visited paris and all the people were either miserable or arrogant/ignorant....its the french who dont like us brits if anything

i personally have no problem with the French and I love their country!

i don't think there's been any issues with the French... so I would say yes!

As a nation, the 'cheese-eating surrender monkeys' are arrogant and think they are the cream of europe (despite being invaded more times than I have had hot dinners). Their language is c..p and their food is disgusting and are hygienically suspect as a nation who spends more of perfume than soap.



But catch one on his own and he's not too bad.

I think they do!....In London there are many restaurants that make proper crepes....and also...british like wearing stripes....cheese, wine an bread are big......The french are beautiful people!
